Hello! It’s been a while…a long while.
I could give the many excuses that I have been telling myself for not spending time here but I won’t do that to you. Nobody likes excuses so I’ll take it like the grown up that I’m trying to become and admit that it was absolutely my fault. But you will be happy to know that I missed you, terribly! So I am back and this time for good. Some weeks I might post more than others and that’s okay. I’m learning that just because I miss a post or two it doesn’t mean that I have failed and now have to quit posting altogether because the truth of the matter is, I really love this space. I love the writing, the curating, and I love that you take the time to read this.
So without further ado, I will start this new season with what I hope will be useful to you this {furiously approaching} winter season: my top 3 ways I tell a cold to beat it!
1. Salads. Yes, I said salads and no, I’m not crazy. While I love a good cup of hearty chicken soup like any other sick person, I find that soup only makes me feel good temporary and {as I reluctantly transition into adulthood} I am finally starting to accept {and notice} the fact that greens are good for your body and your immune system…who knew! The salad above was my version of this but I replaced the watermelon with peaches. The dressing is also oh-so delish that I make a batch every.single.week.
2.Stress is never good for you, specially when you’re sick so cuddle up on your couch in your comfiest blanket and watch your favourite feel-good movies. My go-to list is The Holiday, Love Actually, Bridget Jones Diary, Dirty Dancing and Easy A.
3. Water, tea, repeat! While all tea is good and delicious, as soon as I start feeling a cold coming on I start compulsively brewing David’s Tea Cold 911. Its minty flavour always makes me feel way better!
Love all these things! Don’t love that you’ve had to beat this cold to the ground, though!
